My idea is that all the information you need to write your novel – chapter/scene outlines, characters, places, research information – should be easily findable so that it distracts you from your writing as little as possible.

At present I won’t be providing the facility to actually write the novel in the application, but maybe in a future version.

Technologies I’m planning on using:

  • Ruby on Rails (or maybe Django)
  • CouchDB
  • JQuery
  • OpenID
